Denzel Ieremia is on track to secure a place in the 2022 Korn Ferry Tour after shooting rounds of 69 and 68 in the second stage of Qualifying the Bear Creek Golf Club in California.

After winning through stage one a couple of weeks ago Ieremia and fellow Kiwi Nick Voke have been competing in one of five, stage two tournaments.

The top 19 and ties of each event progress to the final stage of qualifying and players who advance to the finals are assured a Korn Ferry Tour card for 2022.

In the second round, Ieremia shot six birdies and an eagle to finish the second round on 7-under par and tied for 8th place with two rounds to go.

Voke on the other hand is tied for 42nd after rounds of 70 and 74. Voke had a second round of two birdies, two bogeys and a double-bogey and is even par for the tournament and would need to shoot two very good final rounds to sneak into the top twenty so he can play on the Korn Ferry Tour again in 2022.

Alexander Kang, the brother of LPGA golfer Danielle Kang, is leading the event on 11-under alongside Justin Warren from Australia.

Ieremia will tee off on Friday morning at 5.39am NZDT while Voke will tee off at 4.33am.
