Daniel Hillier has shot his second eagle in as many days to position himself well heading into the final day of The Players Series hosted by Geoff Ogilvy at the Rosebud Country Club in Victoria.
After his eagle three on the par-five 16th hole on Friday, Hillier went ahead and eagled the par-five 15th on Saturday to finish with a 2-under 69 for the day and be tied for 13th position on 6-under, eight shots behind current leader Brad Kennedy on 14-under.
Hillier’s round was up and down on Saturday with three bogeys, three birdies and that eagle but he has shown he can tame the Mornington Peninsula course and he will be set to do that again on Sunday.
Fellow Kiwi Mike Hendry is only two shots behind Hillier on 4-under after an up and down par round of 71 following his 6-under 65 on Friday.
As we publish, the lead continues to change with 2020 NZ Open Brad Kennedy shooting an albatross on the same hole that Hillier eagled this morning to lead by two shots after 18 holes ahead of course record holder Nathan Barbieri on 12-under.
Geoff Ogilvy dropped three shots in two holes as the sea breeze picks up on the players at the end of the day to drop from a share of the lead to 7-under and seven shots back.
Coverage continues on Sky Sport on Sunday starting at 2 pm through until 7 pm NZDT on Sky Sport 6, Sky Sport Now and Sky Go.
