The Florida resident set the course alight on the front nine with 4 birdies in the first seven holes.

Following bogeys at 9 and another at 16, he grabbed birdies at 14 and 17 to keep his early score.

After a drive to the right side of the fairway on the 478-yard par-4 17th hole, Wilkinson chipped in his third, carding a birdie for the hole. This moved Wilkinson to 4 under for the round.
