NZ Women’s Autumn Foursomes
This popular women’s tournament is to be held in 2020 at Timaru’s Gleniti Golf Course. The course was founded in 1928 and boasts being one of only three courses in the South Island to have views of Mount Cook, along with views of the Southern Alps. The clubhouse is an impressive sight, the original homestead and a popular venue for not only many club activities, but private and corporate functions as well. Timaru is known as the ‘centre of the south’ being approximately half way between Christchurch and Dunedin.
The format of the tournament has been the same for some years, with a 64 pair random draw published for round one, with multiple flights and plates following for rounds 2-5. Winners after five rounds go onto their respective finals on Thursday afternoon. The winners receive the NZLGU Foursomes Cup’s and the first round losers compete for the NZLGU Salvers. The 2020 tournament will be the 84th Women’s Autumn Foursomes. The first 64 paid, pairs will be accepted with a waiting list in operation for any additional players.
