Lydia Ko has jumped three spots to sixth in the world, after finishing runner-up at the Scottish Open over the weekend, her highest ranking since the Women’s British Open in 2017.

Ko started the year ranked 29 but she has had a stellar year with five top-ten finishes this year including a victory at the Lotte Championship in Hawaii and her runner-up placings in the ANA Inspiration and the Scottish Open.

After her Bronze medal at the Tokyo Olympics Ko looks to be on a run and that could come to a crescendo at the Aig Women’s Open this weekend.

“I’m super excited for next week and learn from this week and kind of take the positives and work on the things that I feel like needs to be worked on. Have fun out there and see what happens,” Ko said after her final round in Scotland.

American Nelly Korda remains the World Number One player followed by Koreans Jin Young Ko and Inbee Park.

Tee times will be available for the AIG Women’s Open on Wednesday with coverage beginning on Sky Sport 6 at 10pm NZT Thursday.
